Forbes is the latest national media to take note of the “Texas miracle” when it comes to job growth.
Texas is expected to post the nation’s fastest annual job growth rate at 2.7 percent over the next five years, according to data from Moody’s Analytics Inc., Forbes says inan article today. That makes it the No. 1 state for future job growth, the magazine said.
That’s not hard to believe based on Texas’ employment track record: 413,700 jobs added in the last 12 months — more than any other state. Forbes also lists things we already know have helped fuel the state’s fast job growth: low taxes, light regulation, oil and gas booms and robust corporate relocations.
All of the magazine’s list of the top 10 states for future job growth are in the South or the West region of the country.
